THE HART HOUSE AND EXHIBIT GALLERY HOURS.  

Beginning Saturday, July 11, the Hart House will be open to the public from 1 to 3 PM, Saturdays and Sundays, through September 6th, and then open Sundays only until the end of the season.  Admission is $ 5p/p, free to members. The Hart House can be open for private tours depending upon the availability of a Society guide.   Reservations  must be made no less than 7 days in advance either via email at contact@saybrookhistory.org or 860 395-1635. Admission- $10 p/p, free to members. The Archives Building is open to the public year-round on Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 9AM till Noon.

The Archives Building is open to the public year-round only on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9-AM till Noon.  Special appointment visits are possible.  Call 860-395-1635 or email contact@saybrookhistory.org with your specific request details.

FREE CONCERT IN THE GARDEN
From Colonies to Independence: Songs of America’s Transition
Sunday, July 5, 3 – 4:30PM

In the Hart House Heritage Gardens, 350 Main Street, Old Saybrook.
Celebrate the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence with songs and stories about life in the 13 colonies and the early years of the Republic.

Rick Spencer and Dawn Indermuehle perform songs that give cultural insight into America’s colonial history.  Their vocals and accompaniment sound true to the era.  Bring your chairs and go back in time with music and songs.

FREE GARDEN CONCERT

Chris and Laura Funk are a father/daughter acoustic duo that have been playing together professionally for nearly 25 years. They have acquired an eclectic set list that includes songs by Bonnie Raitt, Patsy Cline, Fleetwood Mac, John Prine, Neil Young, and a host of other artists. Their music is rich in harmonies and offers tasteful renditions of popular songs. You can catch them performing at local re benefits in the shoreline area. Bring your chairs and relax in the Hart House Heritage Gardens, 350 Main Street.

LECTURE TOUR OF CYPRESS CEMETERY
Sunday, October 25, 4 PM

Historian J.H. Torrance Downes will once again narrate one of his captivating tours of Cypress Cemetery, 100 College Street, in Old Saybrook. The grounds were originally laid out in 1635 as the Saybrook Colony’s burial ground.  Downes relates the history of many of the notable people buried there, bringing their histories and stories to life for all to appreciate. Always popular and informative.

There is a $5 fee to benefit the Historical Society.
